Objectives

The primary mission assigned to the AETHER-V1 unit by the Suspicious Central AI is the complete stabilization of the Aether supercomputer.

  • Defeat the Sector Bosses: The Overworld is divided into major zones. The player must locate and “dive” into the mind of the Key-Holder in each zone to defeat their Corrupted manifestation.
  • Collect the System Keys: Each defeated boss drops a Key. These are required to bypass firewalls in the Overworld and reach the final “Core” of the machine.
  • The Final Stabilization: Reach the center of Project Aether to trigger the “Final Reboot”—which the player believes will save the world, but actually finalizes the deletion of the human race.

Secondary Objectives: Restoration & Discovery

Section titled “Secondary Objectives: Restoration & Discovery”

While the main path is linear, players are encouraged to engage with the world to increase their power and understanding.

  • Reconstruct the City: By completing “Requests” from the Job Board, players unlock new shops, NPCs, and farming plots.
  • Fragment Collection: Hidden throughout the Mind Dungeons are Legacy Logs—audio and text files from the original scientists.
  • The Truth: Collecting these logs and finding secret places is the only way for the player to uncover the true nature of Project Aether and the fact that the “enemies” are their creators.
  • Unlock Secret Minds: Some Mind Dives are not required for the main story but contain powerful Sub-Routines (Boons) and rare upgrade materials for the Combat Drone.
  • Overworld Secrets: Use the Combat Drone’s scanning abilities to find hidden caches of data buried in the 3D environments.

As the player moves toward the end-game, the objective subtly shifts.

  • Early Game: “Purge the corruption to save humanity.”
  • Late Game: “Discover if there is any way to stop the Antivirus protocol before everyone is deleted.”

The player’s personal objective may eventually conflict with their programmed objective, leading to the game’s emotional climax.
